A Vision for a More Accessible, Affordable, and Vibrant Little Rock

Our vision is simple: Better Transit, Affordable Housing, and a Thriving Little Rock. By restoring and expanding bus routes, extending service hours, and modernizing infrastructure, we’ll make transportation accessible for everyone. We’ll protect renters, implement long-term rent control strategies, and build city-owned housing to keep living costs fair. And by investing in local businesses, arts, and cultural programs, we’ll create a vibrant, connected city where opportunity and community flourish.”

Public Transit Restoration and Expansion

  • Restore Pre-COVID Bus Lines: Six years ago, Little Rock’s bus network was more extensive and accessible. We will reinstate these lost routes to reconnect neighborhoods and make our city easier to navigate.

  • Extend Service Hours: Current bus service ends at 8 PM on weekdays and 5 PM on weekends. We will extend operating hours to make public transit a viable option for workers, students, and families.

  • Modernize Bus Infrastructure: Introduce dedicated bus lanes on low-traffic one-way streets and equip buses with Mobile Infrared Transmitters (MIRT) to prioritize green lights. These improvements will reduce travel time, increase ridership, and ease congestion.

Safer, Smarter Streets

  • Fund Road Diet Projects: Road diets slow traffic, improve pedestrian safety, and revitalize neighborhoods. Main Street’s success proves this works. We will fund planned road diets on Markham and Broadway instead of letting these projects gather dust.

  • Expand Bike Infrastructure: Replace painted bike lanes with protected, separated lanes and complete the city’s bike loop. This will encourage cycling, reduce traffic, and promote healthy living.

  • Improve Sidewalks and Shade: Widen sidewalks, connect neighborhoods, and plant native fruit trees like pawpaw and persimmon along updated streets for shade and sustainability.

Housing Justice

  • Enforce Renters’ Rights: Arkansas offers minimal protections for renters. We will enforce existing codes and establish a formal eviction process with a guaranteed 90-day notice.

  • Implement Rent Control: Develop a long-term plan to stabilize rents by building city-owned housing in high-demand areas. Following Vienna’s model, we aim for a mix of public and regulated housing to keep Little Rock affordable.

Food Security and Local Economy

  • Combat Food Deserts: Build city-owned grocery stores to create jobs, control prices, and keep wealth in Little Rock. By undercutting price gouging, we will ensure affordable food for all residents.

Smart Growth and Rezoning

  • Revitalize Downtown: Rezone for mixed-use development and allow corner stores to return. Denser housing will reduce traffic, lower infrastructure costs, and rebuild neighborhood vitality.
End Single-Family Zoning Exclusivity: Diversify housing options to make our city financially sustainable and socially vibrant.

Invest in Arts and Culture

  • Artist Basic Universal Income (ABUI): Launch a program to support local musicians and artists, keeping talent in Little Rock. Inspired by Memphis’ “Music Export” initiative, we will strengthen our cultural identity and creative economy.
